'Buddy Games' Exclusive Sneak Peak: Team OK Lose Closest Allies

Derby Squad is sent home, leaving Team OK without any allies in the house.

There are only two episodes left of Buddy Games Season 1, and PopCulture has an exclusive sneak peek at Thursday's penultimate episode. In the clip, Team OK mourns the loss of their allies, Derby Squad, who were knocked out by Chicago's Finest. "Chicago's coming back out to us now, for sure," Yue Pun Szeto says as the team gathers in their room. "They're impressive. Gotta give it up to them," Brian "Huddy" Hudson replies.

Szeto adds, "That was probably the worst thing that could have happened," to which Huddy responds, "Yeah. Not good. Losing the only team, you know that it's got your back." Later, in a group huddle interview, Szeto says, "Chicago's finest. Just sent Derby squad home. They were our allies and our friends so we know that it's pretty much us versus the rest of the house." Jumping back to their room meeting, Szeto offers, "It's a little bit harder now. A little bit less protected, but it's all right." Check out the full clip above.

The Buddy Games competition series is hosted by Josh Duhanel, as based on his Buddy Games films, which were in turn based on the actor's real-life experience of going away with friends for one week and a year and competing in a series of games and challenges together. Pop Culture previously had a chance to speak with Duhamel about the series, and he explained why he was keen to bring the show to CBS, saying that "nobody does this better." He elaborated, "When you think about Survivor and Amazing Race and Big Brother and all these things, this is kind of a combination of all those things. It's a perfect show for CBS, in my opinion."

"I think that it's that relatability that people will see themselves in these groups of friends that are competing," Duhamel continued. "No matter which group it is, somebody will relate and be like, 'You know what? We should get our group together. We could win this thing. We could actually go out and win it. We should do it.' Because you have the comfort of your group around you. It's not like you're out there by yourself." A new episode of Buddy Games airs this Thursday, Oct. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). Fans can catch it on the CBS Television Network, as well as live and on-demand through Paramount+.
