Months after his PDA scandal with Alisha Wainwright dominated the news, Justin Timberlake has, once again, opened up about the ordeal. In an interview with the Daily Mail for the Weekend Magazine, published on Friday, Timberlake addressed his "strong lapse in judgment" that saw him getting close to his Palmer co-star, Wainwright, at a bar in New Orleans. While the singer has previously addressed this matter with a lengthy statement posted to his Instagram, his recent statements highlight how he's learned and grown since this public scandal. And, in response to his recent interview, fans have had plenty to say.
"I don't have any secret for growing up except to continue to try to do my best," Timberlake told the publication. The "Can't Stop the Feeling" singer has been married to Jessica Biel for eight years and the two share a son, Silas. "There's always something to learn, and you have to realize that you have a footprint and you can't go back and erase it. But you can improve the next path, and that's all you can really do." He went on to share some kind words about his wife and recounted the time when they first met.
Timberlake noted that "there was nothing starry about the way [they] got together," but that there was an immediate connection there. He added, "We met and got talking, and afterwards I asked our friend if I could call her and ask her out." Timberlake's comments about Biel are indeed sweet, but many fans couldn't help but focus on his statement regarding his PDA scandal instead.
It's A Private Matter
On Facebook, one user responded to Timberlake's comments by saying that this is really a "private matter" that should be discussed with his wife, Biel.
"Private matter discuss with your beautiful wife! I hope you DESERVE HER !!" they wrote.
Another user was on the same page, saying that it was indeed a private matter and that "we don't need to know."
Let's Move On
Some users are simply ready to move on past the scandal and have urged Timberlake to do the same.
"How about he just shuts up about it and moves on to making his wife the most important woman in his life," they wrote, noting that the singer's focus should be squarely on Biel. Based on Timberlake's interview with the Daily Mail, that's exactly where his priorities seemed to be.
"So he re worded what he said 4 months ago," another user wrote on Facebook. "why come out and say anything." They're referencing the public apology that Timberlake issued shortly after the PDA scandal emerged. In his apology, he apologized to his wife and family for putting them through the "embarrassing situation."
Some Don't Really Care
Given that the world is currently in a health crisis surrounding the coronavirus, some Facebook users didn't really care to see Timberlake's retread of past events.
"Umm who cares!! Think the world has more imp things to worry about than your life," one user even wrote.
Wouldn't Have Stood For It
As another user bluntly put it, they wouldn't have dealt with the messy situation in the same way that others might have, writing, "I would of said “SEE YA”!"
There's A Crisis Going On0comments
Yet another user wrote that there's currently a pandemic going on regarding the coronavirus, so the world has better things to focus on than Timberlake's latest comments.
"We have a crisis in this country!!!!" they commented on Facebook. "Who cares about this spoiled goof that screwed up his marriage???"
