Singer Chris Cornell passed away from suicide in May, and his 12-year-old daughter, Toni Cornell, appeared on Good Morning America Friday morning to perform a movie tribute to her father and Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, who also died from suicide in July.

Cornell performed the Leonard Cohen song "Hallelujah" with the band One Republic.

"It's an honor to perform this for my dad and Chester and to sing for them," the 12-year-old said.

One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder alternated vocals with Cornell throughout the song, ending the powerful piece together as images of Cornell's father and Bennington appeared on the screen behind the duo.

Bennington, who was friends with the Soundgarden singer for years, had performed the song at Cornell's funeral. Linkin Park was scheduled to perform on Good Morning America Friday as part of the show's Summer Concert Series, with One Republic stepping in to fill the spot.

"Chester sang this at Chris' funeral, and this is arguably one of the greatest songs written in the last 50 years," Tedder said of "Hallelujah." "It's a very special song to us, and I think to most people and especially to Toni [Cornell] as well."
