The couple did not share when their little one is set to arrive. Corgan, 57, and his wife are also the parents of Philomena, 5, and Augustus, 8, with the rocker revealing the adorable reaction their kids had when they learned they would be becoming big siblings.
“On Sunday, we shared the news with our children, Augustus Juppiter and Philomena Clementine. While Augustus was overjoyed, Clementine, the younger of the two, asked if the baby was made already and shed a few tears of concern, which was honestly adorable,” he said. “Now, both kids are beaming, and it makes it so much fun to share the joy of bringing more love into our family. We are truly blessed.”
News of baby No. 3 comes amid an exciting time for the couple, who are set to celebrate their first wedding anniversary later in September. After they began dating in 2012, Corgan dropped to one knee and popped the question on Mendel Corgan’s 30th birthday in September 2022, the bride revealing in an Instagram update at the time that “the day finished with a wedding proposal. Of course I said yes.” The Corgans went on to exchange vows in September 2023.
Mendel Corgan is the CEO and co-creative director of House of Gilles, the Haute Couture house she launched this year alongside her father, Gilles Mendel. She and her husband also own the popular tea shop Madame Zuzu’s in Chicago’s Highland Park. Corgan, meanwhile, is the frontman of the alternative rock band Smashing Pumpkins, which he co-founded in 1988. The band is currently touring with the Linda Lindas and Rancid on Green Day’s Saviors Tour, with Corgan sharing a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what it’s like touring with his family tagging along in an Instagram video, writing, “Family first, always. In case you’re wondering what backstage is like … Fill your life with the things that matter most.”
