Kurt Cobain's Daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, Marries Tony Hawk's Son, Riley Hawk

The couple have been dating since at least early 2021 and went public with their relationship in February 2022.

Frances Bean Cobain is a Mrs.! Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love's 31-year-old daughter reportedly quietly married Tony Hawk's son Riley Hawk in Los Angeles on Saturday, Oct. 7, just a few weeks after they obtained their marriage license in San Diego, according to TMZ. Although neither Cobain nor her husband have publicly commented on their reported marriage, TMZ reports that ceremony was officiated by Frances' godfather, R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe.

The alleged exchange of vows comes just a year-and-a-half after the newlyweds first went public with their relationship, though it is believed they have been dating since at least January 2021. Rumors of their romance first sparked on Reddit when a user shared a photo of Cobain and Riley, a professional skateboarder who also fronts the punk-metal band Warish, out at dinner together with his parents, according to the Daily Mail. The in February 2022, Cobain made their relationship Instagram official when she shared a gallery of photos to the social media platform, including one of the famed pro-skateboarder's son.

"I took a year long break from posting on Instagram which was exceptionally good for my mental, emotional and spiritual health. 2021 brought me more into the present moment than I've ever been, which I'm deeply grateful for," she captioned the post. "I wanted to share a few moments that were captured/created this past year that brought me a great amount of joy. Here's to hoping everyone's 2022 is filled with authentic connections, a lot of warmth and profound discovery of self."

While the marriage marks Riley's first, it is Cobain's second. She was previously married to musician Isaiah Silva from 2014 to 2017. Cobain filed for divorce from ex-husband in 2016 after two years of marriage, sparking a lengthy court battle over one of Kurt's guitars, which the late musician played during one of Nirvana's 1993 appearance on MTV: Unplugged just months before his death and the band's subsequent live album. In May of 2018, he filed a lawsuit against Courtney Love, claiming that she "entered into a conspiracy with several people to break into his home, beat him up, kidnap him and try to murder him so they could gain possession" of the guitar. The following year, Love demanded that Silva undergo a psychiatric evaluation to assess his sanity before going to trial. Silva ultimately got the 1959 Martin D-18E after the divorce was settled and sold it at auction for $6.01 million.
