Any good romance movie with a love triangle makes you wait until the very end to see who ends up with whom. Most of the time it goes as you had envisioned in your head, but something it ends up completely wrong.
Love triangles have been apart of films for a very long time, but if we had it our way a few of them would be sent back to the writer’s desk and switched around.

Pretty in Pink (1986)
Molly Ringwald’s character Andie in Pretty in Pink had been treated poorly by Andrew McCarthy’s Blane for most of the movie. When she ends up going to prom with Jon Cryer’s Duckie, her one true friend, all things seem to change.
Just when you thought she was over him, Blane comes running over to Andie to apologize and says he loves her. At this point, Duckie shakes his hand and encourages her to go get him.
The original version of Howard Deutch’s film, Andie and Duckie ended up together, but test audiences didn’t like that outcome. Therefore, John Hughes was forced to use this ending instead.
Casablanca (1942)
Casablanca is one of the most iconic examples of a love triangle.
At the climax of the black-and-white classic, it looks as if Humphrey Bogart’s Rick Blaine will whisk Ingrid Bergman’s Ilsa Lund off to Lisbon, letting her free of her freedom fighter husband Victor Laszlo played by Paul Henried.
However, he throws a twist when he insists she leave with her husband while he stays and joins the Resistance. If we could do this movie all over, Rick and Ilsa would live their happy ever after.
Made of Honor (2008)
From the beginning of the movie, you just knew Patrick Dempsey’s Tom would end up with his best friend Michelle Monaghan’s Hannah, but their relationship had some complications.
Hannah finds love with Kevin McKidd’s Colin and ends up getting engaged and almost married, but Tom steps in.
Although Colin was probably the better choice, Tom and Hannah decided to get married in the end.
Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001)
Bridget Jones’s Diary‘s love triangle is one for the ages.
Fans of the movie chose their pick from the beginning and many loved seeing Renee Zellweger’s Bridget finally hook up with Colin Firth’s Mark Darcy. But, what if she would have smooched Hugh Grant’s Daniel Cleaver?
Darcy is charming but has a little bit of a boring side, while Cleaver is naughty and nice.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015)
Throughout all four Hunger Games films, Jennifer Lawrence’s character Katniss Everdeen struggled to decide between the two men that loved her dearly. Would she choose Liam Hemsworth’s Gale Hawthorne, the boy who she’s known her whole life, or Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta Mellark, the baker who constantly needs to be saved?
After each movie, Katniss’ chances with Gale slip further away as she grows closer to Peeta. For some reason, Katniss choses Peeta in the end and returns to District 12 to raise a family with him, who let’s all remember tried to strangle her at the end of Mockingjay – Part 1.
