Kimbo Slice has passed away at the age of 42. Reports surfaced earlier today that Slice was hospitalized on Monday near his Coral Springs, Florida home.

According to TMZ Sports, Slice passed away shortly after he was hospitalized. Bellator MMA has confirmed Slice's death, and president Scott Coker released the following statement.

We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family. One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport.

Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man. His loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo's friends, fans, and teammates.

Details on the cause of death are still unclear. Kimbo Slice's real name was Kevin Ferguson, and his last fight was at Bellator 149 in February, 2016.

In addition to MMA fighting, Slice also did some acting. He appeared in 2012's The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption.
