Shannen Doherty is back to work and feeling grateful to be in front of the camera again after battling with cancer. The 46-year-old actress took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a selfie from the set of the upcoming Heathers TV series along with an inspiring message.

Doherty posted the snap with the caption:

"Was back on set today. It's been a rough two years. Fighting cancer. As an actor, people bench you. They assume you're to (sic) weak, not able etc etc. and yet it's something like work that invigorates and renews strength to conquer the unimaginable beast.

"I compared myself to a car today. That vintage Shelby that's been in the garage too long. It's still a great car. The best. Just needs time for the engine to warm up and it's good to go. Performing like it's supposed to. I'm grateful for today. Grateful for everyday. Thank you @heathers for letting me play and be someone else today. Great crew, great writers, great cast, great show, great director. #paramountnetwork2018."

In the photo, the Charmed alum is wearing a long black wig. This is the second hairstyle she has sported this week. On Monday, she uploaded a photo of her new haircut and mentioned that her brunette locks are growing back after shaving her head last year while undergoing chemotherapy.

"After two years of either bald or a crew cut, it's nice to feel a bit more like a woman again," she wrote as part of the caption.

Doherty was diagnosed with cancer back in 2015. This past April, she announced that the cancer was in remission.
