In another interesting twist in the ongoing legal battle between Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna, Kardashian has hired Robert Shapiro as his legal counsel. Shapiro is best known for representing O.J. Simpson during the athlete's infamous murder trial.
On top of Shapiro's notoriety, the connection is also interesting due to Rob's father, Robert Kardashian, being involved as another one of Simpson's attorneys.
The O.J. Simpson trial was the Kardashian family's first claim to fame, and was even adapted into a mini-series, The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Shapiro was portrayed by John Travolta in the series, and the elder Robert was portrayed by David Schwimmer.
Shapiro has already gotten to work quick, as he was present at Monday's legal hearing concerning Chyna's restraining order against Rob. He was already in full apology mode and expressed his desire to end this battle amicably.
"I personally on Robert Kardashian's behalf apologized and offered our regrets for what has taken place in the past couple of days, and now we move forward to do one thing and one thing only: Whatever's in the best interest of this child," he said.
The couple is currently disputing the custody of their daughter Dream, who is currently with Rob after a brief stay with Chyna.
"They're working this out among themselves as good parents," Shapiro said.
Despite Shapiro's effort, Chyna's restraining order was approved by the court.
Chyna's attorney, Lisa Bloom, seemed more than please with the initial ruling, saying, "The judge gave us everything we asked for, which is a set of very strong restraining orders, restraining him from coming near her and cyber bullying; restraining him from posting anything about her online."
