Macklemore was involved in a car crash with a drunk driver, and it has now been revealed that the Grammy-winner was cited in the accident.

According to a Washington State Police spokesperson, Macklemore had been driving on a suspended license and was ticketed for that, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.

The spokesperson said, "At the time of the collision his license was suspended for an unpaid ticket. It has since been reinstated, which means it's clear now, but at the time, because his license was suspended, it's a misdemeanor to drive on a suspended driver's license."

They continued, "The charges were referred to the Island County prosecutor and what they decide to do is up to them."

On Friday, a pickup truck crashed into Macklemore's Mercedes in Langley, Washington. The accident happened just before 11 p.m. local time and occurred after the pickup truck crossed lanes into oncoming traffic, which resulted in it hitting Macklemore's car.

Law enforcement reported that the truck driver didn't have on a seat belt at the time of the crash. Upon impact of the collision, he hit his head on the windshield and was left bleeding and unconscious.

The driver told police that he'd consumed an alcoholic beverage "a while back." When he was asked how much he had, the man replied, "5 o'clock."

The 34-year-old had two other passengers in his car with him. One of them was treated for a minor cut on the head. Luckily, all three people walked away from the accident without any serious injuries.

The Washington State Police report that the truck driver was taken to a hospital for treatment and was also charged with DUI.
