Jordan Rodgers popped the question to JoJo Fletcher on her season of The Bachelorette in 2016, but the two aren't in any rush to head down the aisle.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rodgers revealed that while the pair are happily engaged, they haven't started on the wedding process quite yet as they want to make sure their relationship is in the right place.

"We're learning more about each other every single day, what our life is going to look like and where it's going to be," he said. "Both of our careers and what we're passionate about. So we're enjoying this time of being engaged, continuing to date and court each other, and getting to know each other even more. And then when the time is right, we're absolutely going to sit down and start planning that. But we're definitely taking our time. We want everything to be right and make sure we're in the right place. We still don't know if it's going to be Dallas forever, but it's a great place and there's a lot of moving parts as we figure things out together."

Fletcher is currently working in real estate and flipping houses, while Rodgers is set to begin a game-analyst position for SEC Saturday Night at the SEC Network.

While the two met on television, Rodgers noted that he isn't sure he wants ABC's cameras present at their wedding.

"Very honestly, my first reaction would be that I would probably rather not," he admitted. "There's a distinct intimacy and privacy and it's a very special moment with family and friends, and I wouldn't want anything to tarnish that or to take away from that. It's a time that I want to be able to honor my fiancée and soon-to-be wife and her family, and I want it to be ours. I want us to run the show and make sure it's always what we imagined. If there's a way to do that and include fans, great. But that wouldn't be my first wish."

Rodgers added that after the craziness of The Bachelorette, he and Fletcher are now settling into their normal lives together.

"The past year has been the best blessing I could imagine with finding my fiancée and starting a life together in Dallas," he said.

"We just got back to what life is," Rodgers continued. "We're happy to be doing it together and we had this short period of time where we met each other in this crazy and unbelievable way. We're just doing what we would have been doing if we met at a restaurant or through friends."
