Country Duo Dan + Shay Went off on a Fan on Twitter

Things got a little heated between Dan + Shay and one of their "fans" on Twitter this week.

The country duo released their new single, "Road Trippin'," and it was met with plenty of positive and supportive comments from their fans, except for one in particular.

A guy named Adam, who claims he is a longtime fan of Dan + Shay, tweeted to the guys about their new single. He wrote, "Too bad there isn't more hype — disappointing."

Adam revealed that he is a frequent Dan + Shay concert goer, but doesn't think their team is doing their best job to promote their career.

This is when the duo began reacting to the fan. Once they saw his tweet, they fired back, writing, "You know what's disappointing? Your attitude. Instead of constantly talking s--t on us, our team, + our fans, how about you get a life?"

Adam continued writing tweets about his disappoint and tried explaining his position to them, which really didn't make any sense.

In one tweet, Adam wrote, "You do realize I've supported you since day 1, right? Flew all around the country to attend your shows and encouraged you to be better?"

Abby Smyers, wife of the duo's Dan Smyers, joined in, writing to Adam, "Three consecutive No. 1s, multiple platinum and gold singles, sold out shows, kind, generous. How would you like them to 'be better,' Adam?"

The country stars are used to reading unfortunate comments made about them, but they draw a line when people start attacking their team and fans. "You can f—k with us all you want, but as soon as you bring our fans or our team into it, were like [angry emoji face]."

Despite the heated words, the guys ended the Twitter exchange off on a positive note.
