Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi announced on Friday that they would be ending their engagement, and just like that, another Bachelor franchise couple has officially bitten the dust.

While the show and its various spinoffs have produced some long-term couples — Trista and Ryan Sutter, Sean and Catherine Lowe and Jade and Tanner Tolbert are among the pairs married with children — the franchise has also seen its fair share of breakups after the big proposal.

Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff

The Season 19 couple were together for six months before calling off their engagement in May 2015, with Soules later telling Entertainment Tonight their breakup was the “darkest moment.”

“We tried really hard and once we both knew it wasn’t right, it wasn’t right—and that was the hardest part,” he said, via E! News. “When something like that doesn’t work out, that’s the darkest moment.”
