John Legend can't get enough of fatherhood.

He has dived head first into being a dad to five-month-old Luna and he says it's already changing the way he thinks about the world.

"It's just so much love, you feel that connection with your wife and with your daughter, and I think it's a powerful thing to start building a family," he said in a recent interview with PEOPLE. "And I love that feeling."

One of the singer's new endeavors, besides raising a baby girl, is joining Belvedere's (RED) campaign, in the hopes of making the world an even better place.

The dad shared that he "always wanted to give back but [being a father] just gives you even more reason to want the world to be a better place because you want the world to be better for your kids than it was for you."

He continued, "I think it's been great for me but if we can make it even better for Luna that'd be great."

When he's not contributing international charity causes, he's helping out at home.

"I can do a good bottle feeding," the new dad bragged.

He also gave some insider info about the little one's nursery. He and Chrissy Teigen decorated it with paintings of the family's dogs and portraits of some pit bulls.

"So that's the coolest part of her nursery," he said.
