Six months ago, René Angélil died after a long battle with cancer. Since then, his long time wife, Celine Dion and their three children have had to cope with the loss. Recently, according to PEOPLE, Dion spoke about how she and the children are doing in the wake of her husband's death.

"It's all about feeling very strong and positive. They sense it. They sense that mom is okay," she said speaking of her three boys, René, 15, and twins Nelson and Eddy, 5. "They know what's going on. They know that dad is not coming back. They know that they have to live with him, but differently."

Angélil had been more than just Dion's husband, he was her mentor and manager. Eventually he became her husband and her partner in parenting. Dion said that they used to share the parenting roles 50-50, but now she has to take on the role on her own.

"It's been a journey. It's been hard seeing the love of your life suffering for the last three years. It's been really hard, but millions of people are going through this," she said. "And I feel very strong because not only that he loved me so much for many, many lives to come – he gave me three magnificent kids, so much knowledge, stability and confidence."

Even soon after her husband passed, Dion spoke about how her children are her support system, much like she is theirs. She said, "My kids are fine, so I'm fine."

"I miss him a lot from when he was great by not when he was suffering," she said reflecting. "I cannot be selfish. You have to let people go. I feel at peace."
