After filing for divorce from her husband of 17 years, Adrian Pasdar, Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines has been taking some time for self-care and recovery during a vacation at Hawaii’s Honopu Beach.
The country star shared some beautiful, reflective updates on her time away from it all over at her official Instagram.

In one photo, Maines shares a shot of the ocean with the caption “I was just a simple girl that just wanted to be loved. Everything else just seemed like a lucky bonus,” alongside the hashtag, “some people have real problems.”
The 42-year-old Texas native also shared a photo of a waterfall, indicating in a caption that as her trip comes to an end, she’s “scared as Hell to go back to real life.”
In another photo, she snapped a selfie and captioned the image, “You never know who breaks your heart?”
Maines filed for divorce from Pasdar, 52, back in July. The pair are parents to two sons, Jackson Slade, 16, and Beckett Finn, 13.
The couple married in June 2000 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada following a sold-out Dixie Chicks’ show.
