With only 6 days remaining until WWE Roadblock: End of the Line, RAW looks to get some brotherly love tonight in Pennsylvania! History, friendships, old rivals and new debuts await as the WWE looks to finish the year strong before ramping up for Wrestlemania season at the beginning of 2017. Here are the 5 things we're looking for tonight on RAW!
History is on the line as The New Day have to fend off two opponents (who they've already beaten seemingly 100 times) to reach their goal as becoming the longest reigning WWE tag team champions of all time. As of tomorrow, they’ll be tied with Demolition at 478 days. And with no show scheduled on the 13th, they’ll be guaranteed to hold the record by themselves on Wednesday.
On one hand, they deserve it. They've made the tag team division the most relevant it's been in years and earned the right to sit atop the record books. On the other hand, the other two teams really need to have the bragging rights of "we stopped the New Day from breaking the record." Another loss for The Club or Team Sheasaro would make it really difficult to consider them as serious challengers in the future.
Interesting that this ended up being a triple threat, as the New Day can have their record broken without even being pinned. I think they end up winning tonight, but drop the belts to Cesaro and Sheamus at Roadblock where there is currently not a championship match set up.
It's been one of the more cheesy and yet also interesting storylines on RAW for the past month, but what's next for Enzo after he was lured into a hotel room to be beat up by Rusev last week on RAW? Normally, we'd all be hoping to see Enzo and Big Cass avenge Zo's beatdown, but after Lana's surprisingly inspirational Instagram post on the matter, it kind of feels like the Certified G got what's coming to him.
The former awkward Aussie is back with a brand new gimmick. Which, I think, is that she's an Instagram model. Maybe? With the women's division being so heavily based around treating women as actual wrestlers these days, it will be interesting to see where Emmalina fits in. As with Curt Hawkins recent re-packaging on Smackdown LIVE, it's clear that just because the WWE gives you a huge build up, it doesn't mean they know what to do with you once you arrive.
We're clearly heading for a big payoff to this amazing friendship when Chris Jericho finally feuds with his BFF, Kevin Owens. Rumors have it that the WWE want Jericho and Owens to face off at Wrestlemania 33. If that's true, now seemed a little early to break things apart. The fact that Jericho dropped the goatee last week should signal that he is heading back to another face run. I'd imagine Jericho might end up costing Owens his championship this Sunday at Roadblock with Owens possibly returning the favor at the Royal Rumble to put Jericho out of action until right before Mania.
Ric Flair has been used to a tremendous effect in the longstanding feud between Charlotte and Sasha Banks, but where does he go from here? It seems that the WWE wouldn't have just resigned him to have him be Sasha's cheerleader. Were the Flari tears last week all a big set up? He did just sort of stand by and watch Banks get destroyed without trying to intervene. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Nature Boy interfere this Sunday at Roadblock to help his little girl keep her undefeated pay per view streak in tact. He is the dirtiest player in the game, after all.
