Well, um, that happened. The House of Horrors match boldly took wrestling where it has thankfully rarely ever gone before … to the land of pre-taped cinematic absurdity.
The match began with Randy showing up at Bray Wyatt‘s literal house, which as advertised, was filled with horrors. Randy arrived in a limousine (naturally) to accept Bray’s challenge and upon entry into the house was met with all kinds of classic horror movie imagery.

From talking baby dolls hanging from the ceiling to non-descript stick sculptures, Randy went from room to room looking around curiously until he was attacked by Bray in every single room. The two finally fought their way into the kitchen and had a brief pots and pans battle until Bray toppled Randy with a refrigerator.

Bray then walked out into the grass, laughing and telling no on in particular to ‘follow the buzzards’ before getting into Randy’s limo and casually saying “take me to the arena.”
Back in the arena, the announcers sold the event as if it had just happened and Bray way legitimately back on his way to the arena. Fans on Twitter were quick to point out that, unlike the darkness in the video, it was still daytime in San Jose. But come on, the House of Horrors is no place to point out continuity errors.
After Seth Rollins’ defeated Samoa Joe, the limo pulled back up to the arena and Bray sauntered down to the ring expecting a forefit victory. However, when the lights came up, the WWE Champion was waiting in the ring behind him with a steel chair.
Randy took the fight to Bray, but he was attacked from behind by Jinder Mahal and The Singh Boyz. Jinder attacked Randy with the stolen WWE Championship allowing Bray Wyatt to hit Orton with the Sister Abigail for the victory.
Jinder’s appearance was actually the only thing about this match that made any sense and the crowd genuinely popped to see a character on the screen who made sense.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the madness.

So do you think Bray Wyatt can afford rent on a whole #HouseOfHorrors in the Bay Area or is he subletting? #WWEPayback

Did Randy sign a hold harmless agreement before this? I don’t want Bray to be liable for taking his soul. #Payback

There needs to be a split screen showing Randy on the haunted tractor, stuck in traffic trying to get back to the arena.

Orton took the same route to the arena that Bruce Wayne took from Bane’s prison to Gotham City. #DaBigPayCast
