Take a Look at This 1800’s WWE Photoshoot

Wrestling is going back to its roots! If you didn’t know, the sport of professional wrestling dates back to the 1800’s. In a recent photo shoot, WWE blasts its modern day superstars back 170 years to the dawn of photography.

Photographer, James Weber used a unique collodion wet plate process, which dates back to the 1850’s, to capture your favorite WWE superstars in ways you’ve never seen.

So, here’s your history lesson for the day. Keep scrolling to see what Finn Balor, Dean Ambrose and Sasha Banks would look like if they were alive during the Civil War.

Finn Balor

The Demon King looks all too natural in this light. Too bad his icy blue eyes don’t show up in black and white. 

Dean Ambrose

 Ambrose may take home the prize for the most authentic portrait. The Lunatic Fringe looks like he could hang out with Jack the Ripper. 

Enzo Amore

Those same crazy eyes were shedding tears when his tag team partner, Bg Cass dumped him earlier this week. Maybe his next gimmick can be a Union General. 

Sasha Banks

 Sasha Banks is likely appealing no matter what camera we use. Hopefully, we’ll be looking at through a Championship lens sooner rather than later.

Goldust

 This may actually be from 1850. Goldust would have been a traveling circus superstar.

Samoa Joe

 Bad intentions! Joe looks fantastic, here. In 1850, this version of Joe would gladly kill people. 

Braun Strowman

 Here’s your strong man! Give him the mallet the size of a Prius and let him rip. Strowman is a monster in any century. 

Roman Reigns

Of course Roman closes this show! It’s time to stop hating this guy, clearly his one of WWE’s best-looking stars, not to mention, he’s become a great wrestler.
