It looks like WWE’s blue brand, SmackDown!, will have a new figurehead and that is none other than Shane McMahon. Although Shane has only been back in the WWE for about five months, he’s already made waves with establishing a new fanbase, as well as reigniting his old one, and seemingly on the doing what he can to get the New Era stars over accordingly.
The announcement was made in the last minutes of This week’s Monday Night Raw, but it was also announced that Shane had to leave Raw as he would be needed on SmackDown! and his sister Stephanie would be taking the reigns of Raw. This idea was floating around wrestling sites a while back and it looks like everything is coming into fruition.

Along with both the McMahon progeny running the brands, could this be the time for Vince to step away properly and let his children handle the day-to-day business as well as let them decide their next picks that will determine the future of the company as the faces of the franchise?
Both Shane and Stephanie will also get to pick a Commissioner of their choice, somebody who helps make the matches and keep the talent in line, to speak. In the past, the role has been used as a go-between if Vince wasn’t around. With Vince possibly stepping aside and being seen less and less, maybe that role in itself will be given to superstars of years’ past.
Needless to say, with the WWE Draft next week, it’s going to be a very interesting year for the WWE Universe at large.
