The time is getting closer and closer for Paige to make her return to WWE. The former WWE Diva’s and WWE NXT Women’s Champion discussed her pending comeback on satellite radio on Thursday.

Paige appeared on Sirius-XM’sBusted Open Radio and was asked about the timeline for her return. She said that she “just had a CT scan and check-up. I’m waiting to hear back from the doctor but I don’t have an exact return date yet.”

It has been a tumultuous year for the former face of the women’s division. Paige suffered a neck injury in June 2016. Despite the injury, she was drafted to the RAW brand during the July 19, 2016 WWE Draft. Her pending RAW arrival never happened, though, due to Paige being suspended for 30 days on August 17 for violating the company’s wellness policy.

The neck injury continued to plague Paige, who was suspended a second time for a wellness policy violation on October 10. Paige claimed she was taking medication for her injury and the violation was due to some mix-up in communication between she and WWE; WWE issued a statement denying this, saying that Paige was suspended for an illegal substance that was not a prescription. Nine days later, Paige underwent neck surgery on October 19.

During the interview on Busted Open, Paige was also asked about the state of the current WWE women’s division. She mentioned that she is excited to get back and see the likes of Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, and Bayley (mentioned specifically). She also talked about being thrilled that Naomi is getting a run with the SmackDown women’s title.

Despite all of the hoopla surrounding her suspensions and relationship with Alberto El Patron (Del Rio), it will be great to see Paige make her WWE return. At this point in her life and career, getting back on the road with her friends and wrestling is probably the best thing for her both professionally and personally.
