Only one week after winning the Six Pack Challenge to become the number one contender to Randy Orton‘s WWE Championship, Jinder Mahal is now in possession of the coveted title.

After Orton defeated Wyatt Family apostle, Erick Rowan, in a No-Disqualification match on SmackDown Live, Mahal entered the ring to let Orton know his plans to become the WWE Champion at next month’s WWE Backlash pay per view.

The verbal confrontation saw Mahal use every trick from the typical WWE foreign heel playbook as he spoke in a different language and insulted the “typical American” crowd.

Orton and Mahal quickly got physical with Mahal’s new henchmen, The Singh Brothers, coming in to help Jinder get the upper hand and hit his we’re still not sure what it’s called finisher.

Mahal then took the WWE Championship and quickly left the building with it in his limo.

Is it possible WWE is using the stolen title angle to explain why Orton will not be defending his WWE Championship this Sunday against Bray Wyatt in the House of Horrors match? Seems pretty lazy, but something tells me that will be the exact explanation for the non-title stipulation.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to the segment.
