5 WWE RAW Moments That Sold WrestleMania

On the final RAW before WrestleMania, WWE pulled all their major storylines across the finish line. It is traidtionally the job of a “go home” show to sell the WWE Universe on purchasing the upcoming pay per view or in this age, a subscription to the WWE Network. As far as I’m concerned, Monday’s RAW did just that.

For the first time in weeks, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar were in the same building to hype up their match for the Universal Championship. After months of speculation, Seth Rollins ‘Mania status was made clear when he answered Triple H’s WrestleMania challenge.

The Undertaker made one final mystical warning to a resolute Big Dog before their battle for the WWE’s “yard.”And we were finally treated to a reason to care about the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Nia Jax dropping the leg

Let’s not sugar coat this. The promo work in this feud has been awful. I’m not blaming the ladies so much as I’m blaming WWE for thinking they could get four weeks out of Charlotte telling Bayley that Sasha Banks isn’t her real BFF. This physical domination by Nia completely sold me on the match. 

Braun Strowman enters the Andre Battle Royal

No offense to Mojo Rawley and Dolph Ziggler, but until tonight I haven’t been the least bit excited to see a battle royal featuring members of the roster who didn’t have enough of a storyline to get into a regular match. Enter Braun Strowman. 

While it’s sad to see Strowman drop so far down the card, this feels like his match to win. So much so that I’ll be completely shocked if anyone else dethrones him. Although, now that I mention it, this could be the perfect culmination to he and Sami Zayn’s long running feud. Who am I kidding, Strowman has this in the bag. 

Undertaker’s final RAW Warning

It feels like this feud has been booked backwards, but I think Taker digging holes in his backyard and Roman Reigns telling the crowd he built this house (and yard) was the final push I needed to get me ready for WrestleMania.  

Triple H Gets dirty

The best heel in The Game has totally sold this match with Rollins from beginning to end. So much so that I was actually wanting to see Seth finally get the best of Trips tonight on RAW. You win, Triple H. I’m all in. 

Goldberg spears Lesnar … Again

I actually didn’t need Paul Heyman to sell me on this match. He spoke for way longer than any of their previous matches had lasted and he’s more than laid out the case for Lesnar wanting revenge. I would have preferred to have seen these two handing out finishers to the rest of the RAW roster that was being sent out to hold them back, but Goldberg getting the last word in was confirmation that Lesnar is winning this Sunday and resetting the table on RAW for an exciting new wrestling season to come.
