Even though last summer's WWE Draft was fashioned to make RAW and SmackDown appear as equals, Monday's 3-hour show has always held the advantage. And if they didn't the Superstar Shake Up earlier this year that saw RAW snatch 4 WWE Champions (Bliss, Miz, Wyatt, Ambrose) from SmackDown's roster. Even further all signs indicate that John Cena will be heading to RAW next Monday after SummerSlam.

Is SmackDown ever going to catch a break?

Well, according to multiple reports, SmackDown may be adding considerable beef to their roster at the end of 2017. Sources say Triple H is said to be looking to make a prolonged return to WWE action en route to his WrestleMania 34 match. The Game is hoping to up his TV time and SmackDown is rumored to be his destination to do so. The Blue Brand would also highly benefit from Triple H becoming on of the show's anchors.

It's worth underlining that this is still very tenuous. There were rumors earlier this year that Triple H was going to be the catalyst behind Kurt Angle's storyline that would lead to a huge SummerSlam rematch. Clearly, that's not happening.

This also could not happen. However, it's not that outlandish to consider. When SmackDown loses Cena this Monday, they will severely be lacking a veteran WWE presence on their roster. On top of that, SmackDown would be also getting a top heel, another sore spot for the brand. While guys like Jinder Mahal and Baron Corbin have performed well, they simply do not carry the same weight as a 14-time WWE Champion could. Triple H is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, where he goes instantly becomes more interesting.

We haven't seen Triple H since his WrestleMania 33 match with Seth Rollins. His absence has been a little conspicuous considering how integral of a part of WWE he is. However, WWE has bounced along nicely as they have crafted a pretty compelling SummerSlam card for Sunday.

The Cerebral Assasin showing up at SmackDown would change the landscape of WWE. Really, it's a brilliant idea especially if WWE is truly interested in keeping SmackDown hot.

This is likely the first of several stories on this subject. We will keep you updated as we learn more. It's probably best to treat this more as an idea rather than a fact. There's a lot of room for WWE to call an audible.
