WWE lead off Tuesday night's SmackDown by showing a video montage of last week's main event between John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura. The footage concluded by showing what happened when SmackDown went off the air; Baron Corbin attacked Nakamura from behind, only to be beaten down by Nakamura and Cena.

This week's crowd in Toronto was treated to John Cena making his way out to the ring with a microphone to open the show. He spent the first part of the segment talking about the mixed response he was receiving from the fans in attendance, as well as putting over Nakamura for their match last week. He really put over the fact that he lost clean and shook Nakamura's hand afterward.

At that point, Cena was interrupted by Baron Corbin (and his new theme music). After demeaning Cena for making so much out of the handshake and the "dream match" last week, he said Cena stuck his nose where it didn't belong last week. He said if John wants someone to respect, it should be him, the future of the company.

Cena called Corbin a "skinny fat, loud mouthed, overrated dumpster fire" (part of which he read verbatim off a fan's sign). Corbin teased that he was going to go to the ring, then backed off and asked why he would get in the ring since he has the Money in the Bank briefcase? Corbin said the briefcase means he can do what he wants, when he wants.

Corbin said he doesn't need John Cena or his respect. At that point, Daniel Bryan's music interrupted the scene. He officially made the match, Corbin vs. Cena at SummerSlam in 12 days.
