Sami Zayn is one of the most believable babyfaces in the current WWE roster and yesterday he did something which proved that he is as good human being as his on-air persona.

Yesterday, July 12, was Sami Zayn's 33rd birthday, but he once again proved his "good guy" bonafides by using the day to launch an online fundraising campaign to provide medical care for victims of the war in Syria. Zayn, Syrian-Canadian himself, explained in a video message that it's a cause very near and dear to his heart.

As Zayn notes in the video clip, the donations will go toward funding a mobile medical clinic to help reach the huge number of Syrians who are unable to access healthcare facilities.

Several pro wrestling personalities and superstars have already donated to the cause. Seth Rollins also took notice of his tweet and praised the good work of the former NXT champion via a tweet of his own.

It's been reported that both Seth Rollins and Sami's longtime real-life friend and kayfabe rival Kevin Owens have each donated $5,000 to the non-profit fundraising campaign. Additionally Finn Balor, Daniel Bryan, Bo Dallas, Becky Lynch and others have contributed and shown their support for their colleague's worthy cause.

This effort is combined with the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) Foundation to help raise funds to provide Mobile Medicals Units (MMU) to be on the ground assistance to the residents of Syria that may be displaced or have limited access to basic needs and healthcare. As some may know, Zayn is a child of Syrian immigrants, so this effort hits close to home for the WWE superstar.

From the campaign's website:

"The Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) Foundation is a US-based, non-political, non-religious, medical relief organization that provides millions of Syrians with urgent and life-saving medical services. SAMS Foundation is a U.S. registered 501 (c) (3) charity. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law."
