Last week it was announced that WWE’s SmackDown Live tag team champions and The Usos will have a rap battle with challengers to their titles The New Day. The battle of rhymes will take place on this coming Tuesday’s 4th of July SmackDown Live bonanza.
But as Daniel Bryant excitedly proved on last week’s Talking Smack, the lyrical gift of rhyme is an altogether different set of skills than shooting a strongly worded in-ring promo. So thankfully, WWE have found a qualified moderator to preside over the segment.

DC-based rap artist and known wrestling fan Wale made a direct appeal to the powers that be. In a now-deleted tweet, the rapper made his pitch.
“Usos n New Day bout to have a battle .. somebody get Vince McMahon on the phone asap .. I need parts! It’s time @VinceMcMahon“
Wale soon followed up with confirmation he would be performing the honors on Tuesday.

Though Wale and The New Day have a past association, The Usos were first to comment (perhaps for that very reason)

Wale is largely known for making rap albums and mixtapes inspired by Seinfeld and his association with Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group. But to wrestling fans he’s known to be one of us. For the past three years he’s hosted WaleMania, a “pro wrestling fan interaction experience” and party that coincides with WrestleMania and is held in the same city as WWE‘s largest PPV event.
Tune in to SmackDown Live Tuesday to see who comes out on top. Just please WWE– keep Bo Dallas and John Cena far far away from the whole affair, for the love of Hova.
