Rumors On The Mysterious Enzo And Cass Storyline
The WWE Universe is dying to know who is behind the recent backstage attacks on Enzo and Cass. [...]
Big Cass
Motive: Tired of listening to Enzo's bad jokes and fighting all his fights for him, Cass not only wanted to turn on his longtime partner, but he wanted to embarrass him in the process. Cass knows Zo is holding him back from his true potential and to truly get over as a heel, he needed to be a little more deceitful in eliminating his former lil' buddy.
Problem: Having Cass laid out would seem to suggest someone else was behind the attacks. Also, how does Cass sneak up on Enzo. He's 7 feet tall. Can you teach that? I mean, seriously, how would you teach a 7 footer to be able to creep up on someone like a ninja without being heard?
Verdict: Innocent. Cass seemed like a very interesting choice, but with Braun Strowman already holding down the bad guy giant spot on Raw's roster, I believe Cass will remain as Raw's lovable jolly Giant counterweight.
prevnextEnzo
Motive: Enzo is tired of getting knocked out every single week. Tired of being called the weak link. Tired of being WWE's laughing stock. He could have easily faked the first two weeks of attacks on himself to set up his turn as a mastermind evil heel.
Problem: How does Enzo sneak up on Big Cass? Did he drop an anvil on his head? Where would he go without Cass by his side? Zo isn't the kind of star who could stand on his own as a heel, but he could transition to more of a James Ellsworth position as a mouthpiece for another heel. Surveying the current Raw landscape, however, there doesn't seem to be too many options for muscle to back him up.
Verdict: Innocent. Zo or Cass would be the most interesting options, but I'm afraid WWE isn't currently in the market of doing what's the most interesting. All the tension between the two ove the last few weeks could simply be a swerve.
prevnextBig Show
Motive: Show is nearing the end of his contract and, despite being in the best shape of his life, has been scarcely used on Monday nights. Anything to put him back in the spotlight would be
Problem: He's a Giant. How does he sneak up on anyone? Yeah, he's in great shape, but he still lumbers around like a walking oak tree. Also, most signs point to WWE not wanting to use him in any type of full time ring role now.
Verdict: Innocent.
prevnextRikishi
Motive: He did it for The Rock.
Problem: He's retired and it would make no sense whatsoever. Then again, it didn't make any sense in 2000 when Rikishi revealed himself to be the man who ran Stone Cold Steve Austin over at the 1999 Survivor Series. This was a great example of WWE setting up a big mystery without being able to give it the proper payoff.
Verdict: Innocent. Hopefully.
prevnextThe Revival
Motive: They are old school. No flips, just fists. They model their careers after Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, therefore seeing a team like Enzo and Cass just makes them absolutely sick.
Problem: Kurt Angle did reveal last week that he had seen The Revival leave the arena before Enzo was attacked, but then again, how hard is it to sneak back in the building?
Verdict: Guilty! It's likely The Revival were the planned attackers all along but Dash Wilder's jaw injury is forcing WWE to play things out for a few weeks and keep people guessing. Considering they were the first suspects, this may make them the least interesting option at this point, but going forward a Revival vs Enzo and Cass feud makes a lot of sense.
