Streaming services, like Netflix, can drop an entire season in one day, no longer needing to optimize a weekly roll-out method, which is more well-suited for the fall or winter. Additionally, networks like HBO are home to massive hits, like Game of Thrones, and they can ensure millions of viewers, no matter what time of the year the show debuts.
This summer brings the return of fan-favorite shows like House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, and Fear the Walking Dead.
