Who Needs a Faceliftย When You Have Tape?
Lady Gaga had a whirlwind start to 2016, between her incredible Super Bowlย performance and GRAMMY’sย David Bowie tribute, that adds up to a lot of stress and late nights. 29-year-old Gaga does not let that get to her, however, she has a step in her beauty routine that cures all — tape. According to an interviewย with the Mirror she, “I wash my face, I pin my hair back and put on a wig and a cap and I ask, ‘How am I going to form my eyes with tape today?’” The tape works double-duty as she also uses it as a makeup remover.
According to aesthetician, Meredith Stanley, this technique might not be a great idea. “No, no and no!” Stanley exclaims, “Temporary fixes like this is what causes wrinkles and aging lines later. Your skin should be taken care of, not treated like construction paper.”

Pop Hair
Not to be confused with “pop star hair,” pop hair means exactly that; washing your hair with soda pop. Suki Waterhouseย told Marie Claireย that the soda is her trick to getting those voluminous beachyย waves, “Coca-Cola makes [my hair] tousled, like I’ve gone through the Amazon or something.”
So is there any science behind this? Coca Cola creates an effect that makes the cuticles contract, which does create a stronger and bouncier curl. If Waterhouseย is dying her hair, however, she might want to be careful — the soda tends to fade color.

Beerwash
Catherine Zeta-Jones’ signature lovely locks seem to always look healthy and fabulous. Expensive haircare products? A glamsquadย that is with her at all times? Not quite, the A-list actress reaches for a cold one. That’s right, she rinses her hair with beer to keep it conditioned, according to theย Wales Online.
According to hair stylist Carlin Alexandria, there is truth to this trick, “The alcohol removes build-up that sits on the the hair. After you shampoo, lightly dry your hair with a towel and work the beer into your strands. I would suggest covering your hair with plastic wrap or a shower cap to give it a real deep conditioning treatment.”ย

A Piece of Clay Everyday, Keeps the Doctor Away!
We have always heard that beauty comes from the inside out and Divergent actress Shaileneย Woodley, takes that very seriously. While on The Late Show With David Letterman, Woodleyย explained why clay is her go-to everyday. She consumes a teaspoon of clay which, “helps your body rid of … heavy metals.” According to the interview, Woodleyย had first heard about this unqiueย approach to wellness from a taxi driver who explained that where he came from, pregnant women especially ate clay everyday.
So, we have discovered that clay is actually good for you because your body doesn’t absorb it, and it apparently provides a negative charge, so it bonds to negative isotopes.ย According to an interview by TODAY contributorย Dr. Roshiniย Raj, “This is a practice in some indigenous cultures, and I think that probably came about because they did not have access to certain nutrients in their diet, like calcium from dairy, or iron, and there are some minerals in dirt or clay.”ย

It Does a Body Good
At 50 and looking fierce as ever, we would probably do anything Cindy Crawford told us to do. This superwoman mists her face with milk throughout the day for hydration and a boost of lactic acid. It was said that Cleopatra followed a similar beauty routine, indulging in milk baths regularly to stay youthful.ย
Besides possibly smelling like, well, dairy, is there truth to the lactic acid building claim? Meredith Stanley weighs in, “She is not wrong, lactic acid peels and facials have grown in popularity as they do promote collagen turnover and give that rich plumpness your skin needs. Spraying milk directly to your face will most likely cause your skin to be a bit sticky. Create a 70/30 solution with pure mineral water to help with that.” We might stick to drinking our milk, but love her dedication!

Caffeine Fix
Halle Berry can wear just about anything and pull it off. Giving us flawless skin, always toned legs and that million dollar smile. Instead of drinking your daily cup of coffee, take those grounds to your shower instead, according to Berry.
The actress adds ground coffee to her body wash in hopes that caffeine and the mild exfoliation it offers will help to increase blood flow and smooth the skin. Heading for a last minute beach vacation? Scrubbing with coffee can temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite. Sold.

Loofahย Your Locks
Gwyneth Paltrow’sย frizzlessย hair is not just great genes or products, it is because of a common shower essential: the loofah. Rather than wrapping her hair around a brushย when blow-drying, Paltrow wraps it around a loofah instead.ย
Carlin Alexandria explains why this tip is not as crazy as it seems, “Rather than damaging your hair with brush bristles or the popular round brushes that stay heated when reacted by a hair dryer, a loofahย would prevent that. It might warm up a bit, however, it should cause less damage. The other side of the coin is that it won’t create the volume that [a brush] might provide.”ย
