MLB Legend Iván Rodríguez on His 'Very Fun' World Series Commercial (Exclusive)

Iván Rodríguez also talks about the Texas Rangers' chances of winning the championship.

Iván Rodríguez knows what it takes to be a champion as he won a World Series as a member of the Florida Marlins (now Miami Marlins) in 2003. And now, the Baseball Hall of Fame catcher is giving fans a chance to win big during the fall classic. PopCulture.com recently spoke to Rodríguez about his partnership with Saxx and the introduction of Ballgorithm. Rodríguez filmed a commercial to support the promotion which allows fans to win Saxx underwear for life if they guess the right Ballgorithm for each World Series game.

"It's a great group of guys to work with," Rodríguez exclusively told PopCulture. "Obviously, we did this beautiful promotion in Miami, took us almost the whole day. But it was fun to be part of, obviously, working with great talents, great group of guys, great people, great behind-the-scenes camera guys, and great producers. So basically, it's great just to be part of this promotion with SAXX for the World Series, obviously, is always to help the testicle cancer and basically that's very important to be part of it." Rodríguez also said the Ballgorithm commercial is "very fun. Confusing, but it's fun."

As Saxx states, Ballgorithm is "a calculation that starts with the total number of balls thrown, added to the total two balls – no strike counts, multiplied by two, added to the total base on balls multiplied by four, added to the number of passed balls squared. Then divide that number by the total number of pitches thrown." Along with Saxx giving away free underwear for life, the company is donating money to the Testicular Cancer Foundation after the Ballgorithm is calculated for each game.

"And when you're talking about the age from 18 to 30, 31, 32 years old, you can get testicle counseling," Rodríguez explained. "So the good thing is you can catch it early and you can be cured. It's 99% that you can be cured, but obviously, it's important to pay attention and basically, that's why we did this, that's why we did it with Saxx underwear, because obviously, the way that Saxx makes the underwear is just to protect that area."

Rodríguez knows the World Series is going to be exciting. But the 51-year-old will be emotionally invested if the Texas Rangers make it. On Monday, the Rangers will play the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the American League Championship series, which means they are one win away from reaching the championship. Rodríguez is confident that the Rangers, a team he played for during the 1990s, can win it all.

"I think that comes with a good group of people, starting from the front office, the Chris Young, the Bruce Bochy, the Mike Maddux, the whole coaching staff," Rodríguez said. "They put these kids or these players ready to play on the field, and also the players when they go out there and perform and play hard. I think the reason that we are in this level, that we are two games to be in the World Series because we didn't have too many injuries. And our team, a little bit of Corey Seagers and a few pitchers, but other than that, a lot of regular players play every day, play hard, and when you have a solid lineup that goes there every day and play every day, you're going to win a lot of games."
