'RHONJ' Alum Splits From Husband After 8 Years of Marriage

After marrying in 2015, the couple have split due to 'irreconcilable differences.'

Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Lauren Manzo and her husband Vito Scalia are calling it quits. Eight years after the couple tied the knot, Scalia reportedly filed for divorce, with Manzo being served the divorce documents on Sept. 29, according to The Sun.

The path to divorce was reportedly put into play all the way back in July when Scalia filed the Marital Settlement Agreement on July 26. Flash forward several weeks, and Scalia filed for divorce from his wife in New Jersey on Sept. 5, according to court documents. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation, stating in the documents, "the parties have experienced irreconcilable differences for a period of at least six months which has caused the breakdown of their marriage and it is apparent that the marriage should be dissolved as there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation."

Manzo was served the legal paperwork on Sept. 29. Her attorney reportedly informed the court days later that he would be representing the former reality star and handling "all financial related issues, including, without limitation, alimony, equitable distribution and counsel fees."

Despite the divorce proceedings, it seems that Manzo, the daughter of Bravo star Caroline Manzo, and Scalia may still be living together, as Scalia listed Wayne, New Jersey home, which they purchased together in 2016, as both of their addresses in the documents. The Sun's report did not include details on a potential custody agreement for their 60year-old daughter Marchesa "Markie" Scalia. While neither Manzo nor Scalia have publicly commented on the reports, the RHONJ alum has remained active on social media and has been posting without her wedding ring.

After through Manzo's brother, Albie, the reality TV personality and Scalia began dating in 2009. In November 2013, Scalia dropped to one knee and popped the question, with the couple tying the knot two years later in a Bravo-filmed wedding in July 2015. They went on to welcome their daughter in February 2017.

In recent years, however, rumors have swirled that their relationship was on the brink. In 2017, some fans began to believe they called it quits after Manzo failed to post a photo of her husband in more than a year. Scalia later shut down the rumors in a January 2019 Facebook post, writing, "We just don't put our relationship on social media and people can't seem to understand that. We are perfect!!!!!!" Rumors again surfaced earlier this year when Manzo posted to Instagram without wearing her wedding ring. She later addressed the speculation, writing in part, "I am allowed to keep many aspects of my life private especially after having a child. If you don't like it then stay away from my page. Simple as that."
