Music Legend's Niece Stuns 'The Voice' Coaches With 4-Chair Turn Audition

Late R&B singer Bobby Womack's niece, Jarae, earned a four-chair turn during the Blind Auditions.

Bobby Womack's presence was greatly felt on The Voice during the Blind Auditions. The late R&B musician's niece, Jarae Womack, auditioned for the singing competition series. Not only that, but she also received a four-chair turn from coaches Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and rookie coach Reba McEntire. She sang Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" and quickly won over all four coaches. The 35-year-old also received much praise from the artists, but considering music runs in her blood, it's not surprising that she holds such powerhouse vocals.

Via Entertainment Tonight, Womack explained in a video package prior to her audition her family's musical roots, and they are pretty impressive. "My grandfather is amazing, he's Cecil Womack," Jarae shared. "He was in a group called The Valentinos, Sam Cooke started their career. He did his own solo career… and my uncle Bobby Womack, he ventured off and did his own solo career, and now it's time for Jarae Womack!"

Bobby Womack was the lead singer of his family musical group, the Valentinos, beginning in the 1950s. Since then, his career skyrocketed, and he continued with music for over 60 years, singing R&B, jazz, soul, gospel, and more. He died in 2014 at 70, but his legacy lives on. Now, not only in his music but his niece. She may be making a name for herself, but she definitely has her uncle's genes and is making him proud.

Jarae Womack had been working as a massage therapist for a few years, and she loves "healing" people, as she said in the video. Now, she's ready to follow in her uncle and grandfather's footsteps while also making it on her own. It's clear that she has what it takes. After getting all of the praise from the coaches, Womack ended up going with John Legend, who was more than excited to come out on top again following another four-chair turn.

Jarae Womack is now preparing for the Battles. It's unknown who she will go up against, but Team Legend has some pretty great members. The Battles are definitely entertaining and hard. Luckily, the coaches do have a chance to either Save or Steal whoever doesn't initially go through. It would be surprising if Womack doesn't make it through to the Live shows with a voice like hers. However, anything can happen on a show like The Voice. Fans will just have to tune in on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET as part of NBC's fall 2023 schedule to see what happens.
