After fans assumed her retirement announcement alluded to an exit from her popular HGTV series, Good Bones star Karen Laine set the record straight in an exclusive with PopCulture, stating the “really simple” fact is she “retired from the company, Two Chicks and a Hammer,” but not the show.
In the exclusive statement shared with PopCulture, Laine assured fans she will still be appearing in the HGTV show with her daughter, Mina Starsiak-Hawk, but just taking a step back from their off-screen company operations. “A crucial thing for a founder to know is when is it time to step back and let the kids do what the kids are going to do,” Laine said. “It’s part of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. You get to a point, and one of the things you’re supposed to be doing is generativity, which is, you’ve created something, and now you can move on.” Following the news, many Good Bones fans have taken to Facebook to express their thoughts and feelings over the announcement.
