After a recent flood wreaked havoc on the state of Louisiana, pop superstars Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift have both made public their plans to pitch in for the flood relief effort. The flood has damaged at least 40,000 homes and was responsible for killing at least 11 people, according to The Advocate.

On Wednesday Morning, 30-year-old singer Lady Gaga tweeted that she will be donating money to the relief. She also stated that she offers her "thoughts and prayers to all of our loved ones in Louisiana suffering through the flood." No word yet on how Gaga plans to donate, or if she plans on helping in other ways.

The announcement followed Taylor Swift's announcement to the Associated Press on Tuesday that she would be donating $1 million. Swift said in a statement: "We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking."

According to Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards' office, the flood is the worst in Louisiana history as 40,000 homes have been damaged and more than 60,000 people have registered for disaster aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

"I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time," Swift continued.
