In the wake of the deadly mass shooting in Orlando, author JK Rowling honored one of the victims who worked on the Harry Potter Ride at Universal, Luis Velma. The shooting took place at gay nightclub Pulse early Sunday morning leaving 50 dead and more injured.

Rowling tweeted a photo of victim Luis Velma with the comment, "Luis Velma worked on the Harry Potter ride at Universal. He was 22 years old. I can't stop crying." She also retweeted fans that responded to her initial post. One tweet from Melissa Gibbo stated regarding Velma, "He was the guy in the break room you liked four seconds after walking in." Another tweet from Sarah Moore stated, "had the pleasure of meeting him last week on my holidays, he was SO nice to my son, such a lovely guy."

A friend of Velma's at Universal studios, Josh Boesch, told the Orlando Sentinel "He was always a true friend you could call. He was always open and available." Boesch also mentioned that Velma wanted to become an EMT in a career pursuit beyond Universal and that he attended Seminole State College.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Velma worked on the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride. Velma posted on social media about going to Pulse on the night he was killed. President Barack Obama declared the shooting was "the most deadly mass shooting in American history."
