Chester Bennington Funeral Memorabilia Removed from eBay

Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington was laid to rest at a private funeral on July 30, with family, friends and fans still in mourning. However, Bennington's loved ones got an unpleasant surprise when someone at the service posted memorabilia from the funeral on eBay.

An eBay seller posted two "memorial packages" from the service that each included a program, lanyard, pin and wristband.

Bennington's family and friends contacted eBay to have the seller shut down, according to TMZ. The auction site obliged, saying they don't allow sellers to post anything in an "attempt to profit from tragedy." They contacted the seller and informed him of the policy and removed the items.

Before the auction was closed, there were 133 bids placed on one of the packages. The highest one was more than $51,000 with almost five days left to go.

The identity of the seller is unknown, but sources told TMZ that the person is believed to be on Linkin Park's production team. He or she had sold other behind-the-scenes memorabilia before Bennington's suicide on July 20.

Fans who spotted the listing were not pleased, with some calling it "gross" and "shameless" on social media.
