This mom knows that motherhood can usher in a whole new era of self consciousness, and her uplifting words might be just what some moms need to hear.
Olivia White, an Australian lifestyle blogger who shares stories from her life on her House of White blog, shared a stunning post-partum portrait that bared her stomach, stretch marks and all.
"Puffy face, droopy milk filled boobs, wider hips and belly full of stretch marks!!" she wrote. "That's my post baby reality, no 'bouncing back' here! And you know what? I couldn't give a s--t!"
It's her reasoning that she explains next, that might be a powerful thing for parents to consider.
"I'm not the same person I was before I had babies, so why would would I want my body to reflect something and someone I no longer am?" she posited.
She takes a moment to consider the incredible work her body did to bring her children into the world.
"Those droopy boobs fed my babies and grew them up big and strong," she pointed out. "Those hips and rippled belly was home to my little babes for 9 months."
She makes sure not to bash women who do focus on their size as she talks about her own reasoning for loving her own the way it is. She even admits that sometimes insecurities affect her as well.
"And sure, some days I wish it didn't jiggle so much and was a bit 'firmer' but then I just remember the awesome s--t it's done and cut myself some slack and go eat a cheeseburger, because we earned it," she wrote.
Her post is now flooded with comments from fellow moms thanking her for the reminder that it is ok to love your body, every last square inch of it.
