Chris Stapleton has had a rough start to summer, dealing with canceled concert tour dates, including CMA Fest, due to a hand injury. Luckily, the country crooner can poke fun at himself even during tough times like his appearance not too long ago on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
“Chris has been working on a special new album, a concept album,” Kimmel said, introducing Stapleton’s bit. “The concept is very interesting: He’s taken the most irritating words in the English language and turned them into this.” The “this” Kimmel refers to is Cringeworthy, the singer’s (fake) new project where he takes on words like “panties,” “nom-nom,” and “ladyfriend,” and makes them sound…kind of better?!

This confirms we could listen to Stapleton sing the phone book, he’s just that good. And for those that have been worried about their chance to see Stapleton this summer being canceled, no fear, he is back on the road and doing well. He even posted to social media announcing his return with the caption, “On my way to Tulsa where this will be OFF & it will be ON!”
