The opening monologue for the Country Music Association Awards stirred up a little bit of controversy after hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley took a jab at President Donald Trump.

The country music stars joined together and took a couple fun jabs at Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, which were seen as fine. However, they followed them up with a joke song about Trump’s tweeting habits.

The song, a parody of Underwood’s “Before He Cheats,” was titled “Before He Tweets” and poked fun at the POTUS’ knack for sending out messages from his toilet late at night.

Many thought the joke was all in good fun, but it ruffled some viewers’ feathers.

Condemnation

Conservative viewers were offended Trump was being ridiculed by the duo.

They cited other recent award shows that have bashed Trump and wished the CMAs would have steered away from mocking their favorite politician.

Approval

Many however didn’t see an issue with the joke, being as it was all in good fun.

Some even outside the country community thought it was a bold and fun move for the hosts to make fun of the POTUS despite their audience’s wishes.
