Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd Share Photos From Italian Honeymoon

After a whirlwind wedding at the Oheka Castle in New York this past summer, Dancing With the Stars pros, Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are celebrating marital bliss with the most luxurious honeymoon in Italy.

The couple, who married July 8, took to social media to share some sweet images from their first trip without their son, 7-month-old, Shai. Visiting the extravagant and lavish Bellagio resort in Lake Como, the two ABC stars expressed how in love they are with the location. And we can definitely understand.

Few places in the world are as romantic as Lake Como, and even fewer resorts as beautiful as Bellagio. Known as the “Pearl of the Lake,” the resort’s world class hotels and restaurants provide tourists like Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd the perfect place to soak up the lake’s famous and breathtaking panorama.

With a village characterized by century-old buildings, stone lanes and picturesque cobbled stairways filled with shops showcasing the finest Italian wares, it’s definitely a hot spot for couples.

Murgatroyd took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a series of images from their day out in Bellagio, adding the caption, “Lake Como with my love,” accompanied by the Italian flag emoji and a heart.

With wonderful climate and crystal waters, it’s evident the two had a breathtaking time. Located exactly halfway between the two southernmost branches of the lake, Bellagio is famous worldwide for its beautiful villas overlooking the water. In the series of images, Murgatroyd and husband, Chmerkovskiy can be seen walking cobblestone pathways, stealing a kiss between an alley, sharing a drink at one of the lakefront’s most prestigious dining spots and posing along the waters.

She went on to write, “We were blown away by the beauty. Missing our little Shai — this is our first trip away just the two of us.”

Murgatroyd has certainly been focused on family lately. Celebrating her infant’s seven-month milestone this past Aug. 4, the doting mom took to Instagram to share sweet video of herself feeding him, and it was a bit messy.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 31-year-old dancer revealed she’s not sure if she’ll return for another season of the ABC dancing competition, revealing that she loves being a mom.

“I don’t want to spend 10 hours away a day from my child, so those things factor into it for me,” she explained. “I’m a mom now and that comes first you know?”

With the two staying at the Hotel Bellagio, the historical resort combines tradition with design, comfort and modern facilities. Not to mention, the boutique hotel features rooms that provide beautiful views over the village rooftops and picturesque streets.

Chmerkovskiy also took to Instagram to share an image of his hotel room, complete with Murgatroyd sprawled out on the bed, featuring one of the most spectacular views in Bellagio. Overlooking the pristine waters and hills of the lakefront, the 37-year-old snapped the image with the caption, “When your bed takes up most of the hotel bedroom and you don’t even mind….not even a little bit….”

While it is unsure when the Dancing With the Stars pros will return home to Los Angeles, their honeymoon was a long time coming. After getting engaged at the end of December 2015, the couple finally tied the knot this past July.

The two, who first met on the ABC dance competition, celebrated their big day with nearly 300 guests including family, friends and Dancing co-stars in a beautiful outdoor wedding, followed by a five-course meal and dance party in Oheka Castle’s main ballroom in New York. The happy bride also shared images to her Instagram of the big event, writing on her blog All Things Fam and Glam that it was a magical day.

“I married my soul mate, my perfect man, the only man I could see myself growing old with. I will love you until the end,” she posted on an image shared to Instagram.
