Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans is being called insensitive by fans after she tweeted that her uncle could have died on 9/11, according to Us Weekly.

“Flying back from NYC and cannot believe that tragedy happened. 💔😪 #WeWillNeverForget #WorldTradeCenter,” Evans, 24, wrote.”Sorry for everyone that lost their family or friends. My uncle retired a week before. I can almost relate. 👼🏼🌤🌇 #NeverForget #Remember911.”

Fans were upset about her mentioning that she can “almost relate.” She went back on Twitter to try and defend herself.

“If my uncle hadn’t of retired he would have been dead right now. So no 140 characters isn’t enough to explain,” she later tweeted and then deleted. “Reason I said ‘almost can relate’ No, I don’t know how much hurt and pain it would cause me. Clearly stated that.”

One follower tweeted at her: “Wtf is wrong with you?!?!? That’s the most insensitive comment ever! You should try to almost relate to being a mom!”

Evans retweeted a follower who was more sympathetic in her response. “@PBandJenelley_1 If you hadn’t said anything, people would say you were unsympathetic. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Crazy,” the follower wrote.
