Jenelle Evans Wants Custody of Her Son Again

The Teen Mom 2 star, Jenelle Evans, gave up custody of her first born son back in 2009, but now that her life has settled down, she is ready to regain custody. Jace, 7, currently lives with his grandmother, Barbara Evans, who is his legal guardian.

"We haven't even had, like, one real court date trial for Jace's case," Jenelle said according to Us Weekly. "It's been going for a year and a half and my lawyer has been going to court for me and my mom's lawyer has been continuing it. She continued it three different times … hopefully we get this all resolved in October when the court date comes."

Back when Jenelle was on 16 and Pregnant, she decided to hand over custody rights because she felt she needed to get her life in order before she could be the mother Jace needs. Now, the reality star has certainly gotten her life settled down. She is currently pregnant with her third child, the first child with boyfriend David Eason. Her middle child, Kaiser, 2, she shares with her ex-fiancé Nathan Griffith.

So why hasn't she been able to get custody of Jace yet? She says that it boils down to the fact that she is just waiting to go to court. Jenelle believes that her mother is stalling because Barbara doesn't want to give up Jace.

"I think she's just too attached right now. I mean, I don't understand what the issue is with him being back with me and I don't see what the big deal is. But I think she's just making up excuses because she's attached," Jenelle said. "Like right now, if I bring it up to her she's like, 'Well let's see what the judge says, well let's see what the judge says.' So she won't even discuss it with me."

Jenelle and her mother have been butting heads for years, so it makes sense that they wouldn't agree on this matter either. Hopefully the two get everything sorted out, and come to the best conclusion for Jace. Until then, Jenelle is excited to expand her family with Eason and their new baby.
