WATCH: Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Turn Heartbreak Into Music

In adorable duets released by celebrities actually dating news, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani released a single this week. The song, recorded for Blake’s upcoming album If I’m Honest, is titled “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.”

Ok, so maybe it’s not the head-over-heels love anthem we expected from the canoodling pair, but the song does still speak to the intense power of love. In it, you’ll find emotional lyrics belted by the couple like, “You can’t tell me that we’ll still be friends/And maybe someday we can try again/ If you really need a brand new start/ Why don’t you go ahead and break my heart?”

Shelton and Stefani met on the set of The Voice in 2014 and bonded over their public break-ups, Stefani’s split with husband, Gavin Rossdale, and Shelton’s separation from wife, Miranda Lambert, Stefani opened up to Refinery29 in March about the subject.

“I think that when you go through what I went through, or what I’m still going through, you think you’re hopeless. You don’t know what’s going to happen,” she told the website. “You panic. It was a really super-unexpected gift to find a friend, somebody who happened to be going through the exact same thing as me, literally mirroring my experience. I don’t think it’s an accident that that happened. It saved me.”

Shelton tweeted on May 3 that he will be performing the song on the Monday, May 9 episode of The Voice with Stefani and they looks super comfortable on stage singing together singing their new single live for the first time.

The couple has been very publicly together for awhile now and continue to make headlines with their support of one another in any endeavor.

In celebration of their new song becoming available, the adorable couple made their love official by carving their initials into a tree and shared their adorable snap on Instagram.
