Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck may be spending a lot of time together but the actress says no one should believe the rumors that the couple is back together, they’re simply co-parenting.

“We are definitely a modern family,” the Nine Lives star told TODAY.

The couple has remained friends despite the fact that they are getting divorced, so that they can give their kids the best possible life. Recently, that meant taking a family trip to Europe.

“Ben was working in London on Justice League and I felt like, ‘Well, the kids should have that experience,’” the 44-year-old explained. “He and I are great friends and we just all went en masse. The kids and I had an amazing time, and he worked hard and got to join us for some. I want them to see everything’s OK.”

It may be unorthodox, but Garner sees it as the responsible thing to do as parents to put the children first.

“Parenting is about…you can’t buy parenting, no matter what,” the actress said. “You have to actually get down on the floor and spend some time together.”
