If there is one thing everyone wants to see it’s Channing Tatum rocking a fushia mermaid tale in his gender-swapped remake of the 1984 Splash.
Is it enough that fans will finally get to see their favorite hunk swimming around as an all too-attractive merman? No. He needs to have a purple tail – and his wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum agrees with us – or at least she helped put the idea in our heads.

“That time I was trying on @channingtatum costume for Splash and everyone thought I was announcing a pregnancy#tbt” she captioned a photo of herself in a bright purple mermaid tail.
According to ET, the original photo was posted on Tatum’s Instagram back in December with the caption, “Happening.” What was “happening”? We aren’t really sure, but we all hope that it was the first sign that he will soon be wearing the purple tail.
Tatum is said to join 22 Jump Street co-star, Jillian Bell, for the remake. Bell will be taking the role originally played by Tom Hanks, while Tatum will play the role originally played by Daryl Hannah (the mermaid). To top it all off, the producers of the original film will be in charge of this classic remake.
Now, everyone, cross your fingers and hope that we will see this hunk in a purple tail.
