5 Fast Facts About Taylor Swift’s Rumored New British Beau

Taylor Swift is not only busy working on a new album (that we can’t wait to hear!), she’s also reportedly spending some time with a new beau, as well.

According to The Sun, our favorite Grammy-winning singer has been quietly dating British actor Joe Alwyn for several months.

Swift’s low-key romance with the up-and-coming star is likely a welcome relief from all the tabloid attention she’s received from her previous relationships with Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris.

Like the rest of the internet, we’d never heard much of Alwyn before the rumored relationship made headlines, so we just had to learn more.

He’s been called “Hollywood’s Next Big Thing.”

While Alwyn’s name is not well known, he is a rising star in the movie industry. Last October, The Hollywood Reporter called the 26-year-old Brit “Hollywood’s Next Big Thing” after his lead role in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

“It happened incredibly quickly,” Alwyn said, after snagging the coveted role.

He’s cautious of fame.

Alwyn told the Evening Standard that people have started recognizing him on the streets — and one fan even asked him for a selfie in London.

He still lives with his parents.

In February, Alwyn told the Evening Standard that he still lives with his therapist mother and documentarian father. He doesn’t plan to get a place of his own any time soon, either. When he landed the title role in Billy Lynn, he was even sitting in his bedroom at home. 

“I texted my mum and dad in their room, ‘I got it,’ ” he said.

He already knows some of Swift’s friends.

The Londoner posed alongside one of Swift’s best friends, supermodel Gigi Hadid. The two were featured in a Mario Testino shoot for Vogue last September. The actor is also set to play the love interest of Swift’s longtime friend, Emma Stone, in upcoming period flick, The Favourite.

He’s private about his dating life.

The star refused to tell the Evening Standard about his relationship status in February. As The Sun reported, he and Swift have been hiding their romance, and she’s been spending time with him in London, disguising herself with a wig.
