Daniel Craig Confirms His Return to James Bond Role

Daniel Craig has officially confirmed his return to the role of James Bond for the upcoming Bond 25 film on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

This will be Craig’s fifth film as the famous spy, leaving fans ecstatic about the news. He was previously attached to the project by reports from the New York Times and others, but he never personally confirmed his return until now.

When asked about his return to the role of the secret agent, Craig said, “Yes, I always wanted to, I wanted to break.”

Early Tuesday morning, Craig told a Boston radio program, “I’d hate to burst the bubble, but no decision has been made at the moment. There’s a lot of noise out there and nothing official has been confirmed and I’m not, like, holding out for more money or doing anything like that. It’s just all very personal decisions to be made at the moment,” Craig said on Morning Magic 106.7. “I know they’re desperate to get going and I would in theory love to do it, but there is no decision just yet.”

He previously played Agent 007 in 2006’s Casino Royale, 2008’s Quantum of Solace, 2012’s Skyfall and 2015’s Spectre.

In 2015, Craig made some harsh remarks about the possibility of returning to the role. “I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,” the star said. But now, he seems to have taken a different tone for reprising the role.

Although he is returning for the upcoming film, he made sure to note that this time will be his last.

The as-of-yet untitled Bond 25 is slated to hit theaters on Nov. 8, 2019.
