There’s a Meaningful Reason Behind That Ring on Liam Hemsworth’s Left Hand

Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus rekindled their relationship in 2016 and have been going strong ever since, and wedding rumors swirled once again after Hemsworth was spotted at the Cyrus home in Kentucky wearing a band on his ring finger.

Despite fan theories, a source told E! News that while the accessory is not a wedding ring, it does hold a special meaning for the actor.

“He wears that ring as more of a ‘promise’ to Miley, but they are not officially married,” the source said. “The only thing that is missing is the legal piece of paper. The pair is not focused on planning a wedding at this time. They are more focused on making their love as strong as possible.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth first began dating in 2009 before calling off their engagement in 2013. Just because they’re back together, however, that doesn’t mean a wedding is the first thing on their minds.

“Miley and Liam are in a really good place because they truly understand each other. Their families spend a lot of time together and are basically one unit,” the insider shared. “It is a really good situation right now and no one is in any rush to the altar. Their favorite thing to do as a couple is spend time with both of their families and they dedicate their weekends to family get-togethers.”

Cyrus’ mom, Tish Cyrus, echoed the source’s sentiments while speaking to Mario Lopez in June.

“They are so freaking happy and living in Malibu,” Tish said. “She’s so happy, and she’s always like, ‘I don’t know why everybody wants us to get married. It’s so perfect.’ She’s 24. She’s got time.”
