Announced earlier this year at Cinemacon, John Krasinski aims to expand his skills in Hollywood by directing the thriller A Quiet Place, in which he will also star alongside his wife Emily Blunt. To embrace even more skills as a filmmaker, Krasinski will be re-writing the script, with Scott Beck and Brad Fuller having written the film’s most recent draft.

The movie, which has only been described as a “supernatural thriller” with no other details divulged, will mark the couple’s first time appearing in a feature film together.

Audiences were introduced to Krasinski on the sitcom The Office, which followed the trials and tribulations of a failing paper company in an increasingly digital world.

In the series, Krasinski starred as the lovable everyman Jim, who regularly clashed with co-worker Dwight (Rainn Wilson) and boss Michael (Steve Carell). The actor would go on to star in major feature films like Leatherheads, Away We Go and 13 Hours, but most audiences are still quick to call him “Jim.”

Most recently, Krasinski can be seen starring in the TV series Jack Ryan, based on the popular Tom Clancy book series. Previously, the role had been played by Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine in Clear and Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears, and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit respectively.

After making a name for herself with her role in The Devil Wears Prada, Blunt would also go on to star in a series of romantic comedies in which she would become known for, like Dan in Real Life, Charlie Wilson’s War and The Jane Austen Book Club.

A role as the love interest in 2010’s The Wolfman, however, helped initiate the actress into the world of horror and compelling sci-fi films. Blunt went on to star in Looper alongside Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as well as give Tom Cruise a run for his money as his partner in Edge of Tomorrow. The latter film proved to be successful enough to earn itself a sequel, which has been titled, Live Die Repeat and Repeat, in which she is signed on to star.

Next year, you’ll be able to catch Blunt embracing the iconic titular role in Mary Poppins Returns, a sequel to the 1964 classic.

A Quiet Place is slated to hit theaters April 13, 2018.
